Carbon fiber/nylon composite material has excellent performance of replacing metal, and is light in weight, high toughness, easy to process, and its application range covers almost all fields of the national economy.
1. Automotive industry Carbon fiber reinforced nylon composite materials are widely used in the automotive industry, mainly because the above materials have excellent oil resistance, wear resistance and creep resistance, and have the advantage of light weight when replacing traditional metal materials. A variety of engineering plastics, including PA66, are gradually replacing metal die-casting components for automobiles, such as fuel tanks, after being reinforced with carbon fibers. In the United States, Western Europe and Japan, nylon is used in almost all parts of the car, such as engine parts, electrical parts and body parts.
2. National Defense Industry Wikon-Fiberfil Corporation of Indiana, USA, has developed a PA66 composite material containing 40% carbon fiber, the grade is NylamM1501, and its performance exceeds that of other high-strength materials currently used. This material can replace metals and is mainly used in the defense and aerospace fields. The US MX missile uses 40% carbon fiber reinforced PA66 instead of aluminum alloy to make missile engine components.
3. Aerospace The twin-engine small business jet developed by the American Beechcraft Company uses carbon fiber reinforced/epoxy/nylon materials for 70% of its main wings, canards, stabilizers, and nacelles. Aluminum is 19% lighter, which is great for speed and fuel savings.
