Enhancing Workplace Safety Through Effective Fire Drill Training

Introduction to Workplace Fire Drill Training

To further strengthen the fire safety awareness of company management, production workshop staff, and warehouse personnel, and to enhance their self-rescue and emergency response capabilities, the company organized a special fire drill. The drill ensures that during a fire alarm or any emergency, all personnel can remain calm, follow designated evacuation routes, and complete a safe and orderly evacuation.

Preventing Fire Hazards in the Workplace

Proper Disposal of Smoking Materials

Open flames are strictly prohibited in the office. Smoking should only take place in designated areas. Ensure cigarette butts are completely extinguished before disposal.

Keeping Electrical Devices Away from Combustibles

Heaters, humidifiers, printers, and similar devices generate heat. Keep them away from desktops, tablecloths, and other combustibles. Regularly check their operating temperature.

Replacing Aging or Unsafe Electrical Equipment

Damaged outlets or low-safety power sockets should be replaced promptly.

Avoiding Electrical Overload

Avoid plugging too many appliances into the same power strip. Overload can lead to overheating and fire hazards.

Staying Familiar with Evacuation Routes

Always keep fire evacuation pathways clear. Know the locations of emergency exits and escape routes.

Proper Operation of Fire Extinguishers

Key Safety Tips When Using Extinguishers

• Do not turn the extinguisher upside down during use.
• Stand upwind or slightly at an upwind angle.
• Maintain safe distance (4–5 meters; dry powder extinguishers: 2–3 meters).

The PASS Principle: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep

Aim at the base of the flames, sweep horizontally, and approach slowly from far to near. Do not release the handle until the fire is fully extinguished.
