Xiamen, ChinaPA6-LCF (Long Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon 6) combines the excellent mechanical properties of PA6 with the high strength and stiffness of long carbon fiber reinforcement. It offers high specific strength, impact resistance and dimensional stability, making it suitable for lightweight structural components, helmet manufacturing and demanding industrial applications.
Polyamide 6 (PA6), also known as polycaprolactam or Nylon 6, is a widely used semi-crystalline thermoplastic engineering plastic. It is valued for its mechanical strength, wear resistance and good processing characteristics.
PA6 is typically translucent to opaque and may appear milky white or yellowish. Its relative density is approximately 1.12–1.14 g/cm³, with a melting point of approximately 219–225°C. Its tensile strength is around 68–83 MPa, and its compressive strength is approximately 82–88 MPa.
Due to its excellent structure and properties, PA6 continues to attract significant research and development. Studies include exploring new polymerization methods, modifying its molecular structure and properties, and developing improved processing technologies.
PA6-LCF is a high-performance thermoplastic composite made by reinforcing a Nylon 6 matrix with long carbon fibers. This combination enhances the mechanical performance of conventional PA6 and expands its potential in demanding engineering applications.
Long carbon fiber reinforcement provides excellent strength relative to weight, supporting lightweight structural designs.
The combination of PA6 and long carbon fibers offers enhanced stiffness for applications requiring structural rigidity.
Carbon fiber reinforcement can improve the thermal and dimensional performance of the PA6 matrix, depending on the formulation.
Long carbon fiber reinforced Nylon 6 combines the advantages of an engineering thermoplastic matrix with the reinforcement efficiency of long carbon fibers. It is an attractive material option for components requiring a balance of strength, stiffness and lightweight performance.
The following technical data provides reference information for PA6-LCF material properties. Actual performance may vary depending on material formulation, fiber content, specimen preparation and testing conditions.
With its high specific strength, stiffness and lightweight characteristics, PA6-LCF can be considered for applications requiring enhanced mechanical performance and structural reliability.
PA6-LCF is processed through injection molding. Appropriate processing conditions and mold design are important for achieving consistent product quality and maintaining the reinforcing fiber length.
