Long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene composite is composed of PP and continuous long glass fiber through special process.Needs, according to the actual shape is general cut into 12 mm long plastic particles, basic retain the glass fibers in the resin and the length of the particles is, compared with the ordinary staple fiber reinforced polypropylene material, LGF PP with high strength, high modulus, low density, high and low impact buckling, and other steel, aluminum and other metal materials compared with thermosetting composites, the design of LGF can provide greater flexibility, forming the shape of complex car parts, save the mould cost. So at this stage, LGF PP constantly instead of metal, is widely used in different parts of industry.

Affecting the performance

1. Content and length of glass fiber

The length of the glass fiber in LGF PP is 5-25mm. In order to make the glass fiber play a skeleton role in the material, the length of the glass fiber must be greater than the critical length. If the length is too short, the fiber is easy to be pulled out when subjected to the load and cannot play its role.At the same time, within a certain range, the longer fiber content of PP LGF is higher, the stronger as the skeleton, the higher the mechanical properties.However, the fiber content is too high, will lead to a higher degree of fiber fracture, so that the fiber can not be fully infiltrated, and its binding force with PP resin decreased.

2. Processing technology

Because the melt viscosity of the resin matrix in LGF PP is large, the fiber length is long and the fluidity is not good, the die is not sufficient.Therefore, increasing injection pressure and temperature of mould and barrel are generally used to improve the effect of die injection
