As an elastomer, TPU is a material between rubber and plastic. From its rigidity, the rigidity of TPU can be measured by the elastic modulus. The elastic modulus of rubber is usually 1~10Mpa, TPU is 10~1000Mpa, plastic (nylon, ABS, PC, POM) is 1000~10000Mpa. The hardness range of TPU is quite wide, ranging from Shore A 60 to Shore D 80 and has high elasticity in the entire hardness range; TPU is flexible in a wide temperature range of -40 to 120 ℃, without the need of plasticizers.

1. Resistance to oil and chemicals

TPU is a highly polar polymer material with little affinity for non-polar mineral oil. It is almost in fuel oil (such as kerosene, gasoline) and mechanical oil (such as hydraulic oil, engine oil, lubricating oil, etc.) It is not eroded; among them, polyester series products have better oil resistance; TPU films and sheets have little change in the volume of grease, and the tensile strength is even higher than the original initial value; need to pay attention to If the mineral oil contains a small amount of moisture, it will negatively affect the physical properties of the film to varying degrees.

2. Low temperature performance

TPU has very good low temperature resistance, usually can reach -50 ℃, can replace the general PVC can not be applied in various fields due to low temperature embrittlement, especially suitable for use in cold zone related products.

3. Airtightness

TPU is very easy to weld by high frequency or hot pressing, so it is widely used in inflatable products. Gas coefficient refers to the rate at which a gas penetrates a specified area of a sample at a certain temperature and pressure, and the permeability of the same material to different gases sometimes varies greatly. Generally speaking, polyester series products have better air tightness than polyether series.
