PA66 LGF50 materials are used in automotive suspension systems. Nowadays, automobile suspension systems are generally made of aluminum alloy or steel. Generally, the following conditions must be met:
1. High mechanical strength (load strength at room temperature above 200MPa)
2. It has good corrosion resistance to salt water/salt spray, engine oil, battery fluid, etc.
3. Maintain good performance in the temperature range of -40°~120°
4. Low creep
The suspension system of composite materials needs to meet these conditions first. In fact, the properties of composite materials are not inferior to traditional cast aluminum. While the performance of the material is improved, it means that the design of parts has greater freedom, such as the shape can be simplified appropriately, or when it can be compared with other parts. When components interfere, conflict, etc., they can make greater concessions. The alternatives to automotive suspension systems are mainly for NVH and weight saving and fuel saving. Most of them use engineering plastics, mainly glass fiber reinforced PA66. After PA66 is added to glass fiber, the rigidity of the material can be optimized.
In 2013, Mercedes-Benz BL-class SUV six-cylinder engine made an engineering plastic engine suspension bracket, and put it into use, and the made material is PA66 GF50. Compared with the original cast aluminum parts, it is reduced by 30%. The low thermal conductivity has a good protective effect on the rubber, and the NVH performance has also been improved. The performance of PA66 LGF50 is comparable to the performance of PA66 CF30. The price is cheaper and the performance is similar. It can be replaced.
