PA66, also known as Polyamide 66, nylon 66, full name polyadipyladipyldiamine, made of adipylacid and adipyldiamine condensation.


As the most widely used variety, PA66 shows translucent or opaque opalescence, with excellent comprehensive properties such as wear resistance, self-lubrication, high mechanical strength, high rigidity, high heat resistance, low friction coefficient and strong impact resistance.

In addition to maintaining strong strength and stiffness at higher temperatures, PA66 is also resistant to acid, alkali, most inorganic salt aqueous solution, alkyl halides, hydrocarbons, esters, ketones and other corrosion, but easily soluble in phenol, formic acid and other polar solvents.

Compared with PA6, PA66 has better performance in wear resistance, melting point and thermal deformation temperature, but it also has higher water absorption and poor dimensional stability. The influence of hygroscopic property on geometric stability should be fully considered in product design.

In order to improve mechanical properties, a variety of modifiers, such as glass fiber and carbon fiber, are often added to PA66. It is relatively easy to form alloy resin, suitable compatibilizer is the key to the formation of tough nylon.

According to IHS, about 60% of PA66 is used in engineering plastics. About 88% of PA66 is processed into various parts by injection molding, and about 12% is processed into corresponding products by extrusion, blow molding, etc.

What is PA66 plastic? Polyadipyladipylenediamine, commonly known as nylon -66, is a thermoplastic resin, generally made from adiponic acid and hexadipamine condensation. Insoluble in general solvents, only soluble in m-cresol, etc. High mechanical strength and hardness, rigidity. It can be used as engineering plastics, mechanical accessories such as gears, lubricating bearings, instead of non-ferrous metal materials to make machine shells, automotive engine blades, and can also be used to make synthetic fibers. PA66 plastic raw material is translucent or opaque opalescent crystalline polymer, with plasticity. Density 1.15g/cm3. Melting point 252℃. Embrittlement temperature -30℃.
