What is Homo PP?

Homopolymerized polypropylene (PP) is made by polymerizing a single propylene monomer, without any ethylene monomer in the molecular chain.

• Advantages: High strength
• Disadvantages: Poor impact resistance (more brittle), low toughness, poor dimensional stability, prone to aging, limited long-term heat stability

PP is a thermoplastic polymer that began commercial production in 1957 and was the first regulated stand-alone polymer. It has since become one of the fastest-growing thermoplastics with a wide range of applications, especially in fiber and filament, film extrusion, and injection molding processes.
