LFT-G Polyamide 12 long carbon fiber reinforced compounds nylon for car parts
Long Carbon Fiber Carbon fiber exhibits outstanding properties, including extremely high axial strength and modulus, low density, and excellent specific performance. It shows no creep, outstanding fatigue resistance, excellent corrosion resistance, and maintains stability at very high temperatures in non-oxidizing environments. Carbon fiber also features good electrical and thermal conductivity, effective electromagnetic shielding, a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and strong anisotropy. Compared with traditional glass fiber, carbon fiber offers more than three times the Young’s modulus and approximately twice the modulus of aramid (Kevlar) fiber. It is insoluble and does not swell in organic solvents, acids, or alkalis, making it highly suitable for corrosive and demanding environments. One effective way to reduce the cost of carbon fiber applications is to combine it with engineering plastics such as nylon, creating high-performance composite materials with optimized cost-performance balance. As a result, carbon fiber reinforced nylon has become an important material system in modern composite engineering. Nylon itself is a high-performance engineering plastic, but it suffers from moisture absorption, limited dimensional stability, and mechanical properties far below those of metals. To overcome these limitations, fiber reinforcement has been applied since the 1970s. Carbon fiber reinforced nylon significantly improves strength, stiffness, thermal stability, creep resistance, wear resistance, and dimensional accuracy. Compared with glass fiber reinforced nylon, carbon fiber reinforced nylon offers superior damping behavior and overall mechanical performance. Therefore, carbon fiber reinforced nylon (CF/PA) composites have developed rapidly in recent years. In particular, for additive manufacturing, SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) technology is considered one of the most suitable methods for processing carbon fiber reinforced nylon materials. What is Long Glass Fiber (LGF)? Long glass fiber reinforced plastics (LFT) are engineered materials in which long glass fibers and additives are incorporated into a base thermoplastic. This significantly improves mechanical strength, heat resistance, dimensional stability, and the overall performance of the material. Why Reinforce with Long Glass Fiber? High heat resistance: LFT significantly increases the thermal performance, especially for nylon-based plastics. Reduced shrinkage & higher rigidity: Fiber reinforcement restricts polymer chain movement, improving dimensional stability and stiffness. Improved impact resistance: Reinforced plastics are less prone to stress cracking and have better toughness. High strength: Long glass fibers increase tensile, compressive, and bending strength. Flame retardancy: Most LFT materials are self-extinguishing due to additives and fiber content. Why Choose Long Glass Fiber over Short Glass Fiber? Longer fiber length significantly enhances mechanical properties. High specific stiffness and strength with excellent impact resistance, ideal for automotive applications. Superior creep resistance and dimensional stability for precision parts. Excellent fatigue resistance for long-life components. Improved stability under hot and humid environments. Minimal fiber damage during molding due to relative fiber movement in the mold. • PP-NA-LGF40
LFT-G Polypropylene PP reinforced materials long glass fiber filled
    • Lightweight alternative to metal and reinforced PA • Excellent impact strength and fatigue resistance • Ideal for structural automotive and industrial components PP Long Glass Fiber Reinforced (LFT-PP) Polypropylene (PP) is one of the most widely used general-purpose plastics due to its large production volume, competitive cost, excellent chemical resistance, and good processing performance. However, conventional PP materials have limitations such as relatively low strength, low heat resistance, limited stiffness, and poor low-temperature impact resistance. To overcome these limitations, reinforcing fillers such as glass fiber or calcium carbonate are added to PP. When the reinforcing fibers exceed a critical length, the mechanical properties of the composite can be significantly improved. Long Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene (LFT-PP) is a high-performance thermoplastic composite material. The pellets are typically cylindrical with a length of 12–25 mm and a diameter of approximately 3 mm. The glass fibers inside the pellets maintain the same length as the pellet itself, which greatly enhances structural performance. The glass fiber content usually ranges from 20% to 70%, and the material color can be customized according to customer requirements. Advantages of PP-LGF 1. Long fiber structure significantly improves mechanical strength and stiffness. 2. High impact resistance, ideal for automotive and structural applications. 3. Excellent creep resistance and dimensional stability for precision parts. 4. Outstanding fatigue resistance, suitable for long-term load-bearing components. 5. Stable performance under high temperature and high humidity environments. 6. Reduced fiber breakage during molding, allowing better retention of fiber length and performance. Long Glass Fiber vs Short Glass Fiber Typical Applications Automotive Industry: front-end modules, door modules, gearshift components, electronic accelerator pedals, instrument panel carriers, cooling fan frames, battery trays, bumper brackets, underbody shields, and sunroof frames. LFT-PP is often used to replace reinforced PA or metal components. PLA Plastic PLA (polylactic acid) is a bio-based polyester and one of the most promising "green plastics" due to its biodegradability, biocompatibility, and high mechanical strength. PLA products can fully degrade into CO₂ and water via microorganisms, and are non-toxic and non-irritating. Mechanically, PLA is comparable to polypropylene, while its gloss, clarity, and processability resemble polystyrene. Its lower processing temperature allows production via injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, spinning, and other common plastic processing methods. PLA is widely applied in disposable plastics, packaging, fibers, nonwovens, chemical, medical, pharmaceutical, and 3D printing industries. PLA is increasingly recognized as a key material to reduce plastic pollution. PLA Reinforced Plastic Glass fiber (fiberglass) is an inorganic material with excellent insulation, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and high mechanical strength. It is widely used to reinforce composite materials. Long glass fibers are typically over 10mm in length. Long Glass Fiber Reinforced PLA (LGFPLA) contains 10–25mm glass fibers forming a 3D structure during molding. It belongs to long fiber thermoplastics (LFT). • TPU-NA-LGF
Thermoplastic Polyurethane resin filled long glass fiber engineering plastics
TPU introduction Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) elastomers are linear polymers formed by the copolymerization of hard and soft chain segments, which have physical properties such as tensile, abrasion and heat resistance, and elasticity similar to rubber. Thanks to the excellent product performance, the application fields of TPU are expanding, including daily consumer goods, construction, medical, military, automotive, agriculture and many other fields. New products and applications are also emerging, such as large-diameter hoses (shale gas extraction), charging cables for new energy vehicles, foamed TPU (ETPU) sports shoes midsoles prepared by supercritical foaming process, invisible braces, etc. Fiber reinforced modified TPU composites TPU has good impact resistance, but in some applications, high modulus of elasticity and very hard material is required. Glass fiber reinforced modification is a common technical means to improve the elastic modulus of the material. Through modification, thermoplastic composites with many advantages such as high elastic modulus, good insulation, heat resistance, good elastic recovery, good corrosion resistance, impact resistance, low coefficient of expansion and dimensional stability can be obtained. Long glass fiber VS Short glass fiber Compared with the short fiber, long fiber has more excellent performance in mechanical properties. It is more suitable for large products and structural parts. It has 1-3 times higher toughness than short fiber, and the tensile strength is increased by 0.5-1 times. Thermoplastics VS Thermosets Thermosets: when heated for the first time, they can soften and flow, and when heated to a certain temperature, they produce a chemical reaction a cross-chain curing and become hard, this change is irreversible, after that, when heated again, they can no longer become soft and flow. Thermoplastic: thermoplastic resin is the main component, and various additives are added to form a plastic. Under certain temperature conditions, plastic can be softened or melted into any shape, and the shape remains unchanged after cooling; this state can be repeated many times and always has plasticity, and this repeated is only a physical change. Advantages Thermosets: Thermoset plastics retain their strength and shape even when heated. This makes thermoset plastics ideal for producing permanent parts and large, strong shapes. In addition, these parts have excellent strength properties (despite their fragility) and do not lose significant strength when exposed to higher operating temperatures. Thermoplastics: Thermoplastics are the most widely used plastics and typically have high chemical and thermal resistance, as well as a high strength structure that is not easily deformed. It is made of thermoplastic resin as the main component with various additives.  Thermoplastic products have excellent electrical insulation, with very low dielectric constant and dielectric loss, suitable for high Frequency and high voltage insulation materials.
